Whilst browsing the internet last week for new dinner time ideas, I came across a recipe on BBC Good Food
http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/3563/sticky-apple-sausage-and-bacon
I thought it looked like most of us would eat it, or at least try it, although it would be a two pan affair for us!
Ingredients:
Sausages (As many as you need to feed your family, we had 2 each)
Bacon, roughly a rasher or two per person
Red skinned apples, we had half per person
Method:
This is a really simple recipe, I have changed it from the original slightly, making it even easier.
Wrap some bacon around each sausage.
Place sausages into oven proof dish, we had a gluten free sausage dish and an 'ordinary' dish.
If you have any bacon left over slice and add to the dish.
Peel and core your apple (I used my fab Victorian style corer which slices at the same time) and put in with your sausage and bacon.
Put in the oven on gas mark 6 for 45minutes.
Serve with mash and vegetables, I used half sweet potato to ordinary potato with a little butter and milk, and even L who, if you remember from the food colouring fiasco last month, doesn't like mash potato, loved it, and it was orange, which was a big hit.

We had green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, sweetcorn and peas with ours, and it was a big success. Only R didn't eat the sausage (he's not keen on the gluten free ones) and asked if he could have it with beans and sausages next time! Still we're getting there!
Enjoy,
