Overnight Oats

I've been hearing a lot about overnight oats, so I decided to give them a go.  They are delicious, and filling.  I had mine at 8.30 this morning and have been for a 3.7 km run, it is now 12.30 and I'm not hungry.  Usually by now, I'm starving.  Here's what I did.

I layered 200g of fat free natural yoghurt with 40g of gluten free oats and a couple of desert spoon fulls of frozen mixed berries in a Kilner jar.

I left them overnight and in the morning the berries had defrosted and those along with the yoghurt had softened the oats, and like I said, they are delicious.  I'll be making up some more of these for weekday breakfasts.

CamperJam 2017

Wow, what an amazing weekend we've just had at Camperjam 2016. Their 10th Birthday celebration. On the Friday night there were lots of people in party hats, and this year we managed to get there, set up and eat in time to walk down to the entertainment, despite deciding to move pitches halfway through setting up, which resulted in J, C, B, L and R walking the awning across the field!  However, we were soon set up, but had forgotten our flag pole so had a few sad faces, but we took our traditional photo, ate and went down to the entertainment.

The second day was hot, and we walked miles around all of the trade stands.  We treated Bumblebee to a snazzy yellow strap so that I can pull the tailgate down easier!  A new light so that now, well once it's in and wired up, we'll have light when we open the sliding door, and some beach mats with the VW logo on, one to go in between Bumblebee and the awning and one for the porch of the awning.

L and R treated themselves to hand spray-painted T-shirts.

And many a snow cone and slush were consumed, resulting in an array of multi-coloured tongues!

We headed back to the camping area on Trainy McTrainface which was a huge hit with the kids as we had managed to miss it all weekend last year, and were treated to an awesome sunset at dinner time.

Then we headed down to the entertainment area for more snowcones and to see 16 Stone Pigs last ever show!  Which was amazing!  We sat outside for most of the gig, but B was desperate to get inside for one of the big balloons that were dropped.  B and I headed inside the tent, making our way almost to the front, and although the big balloons came close, we didn't manage to get hold of one so she had to settle for some of the smaller balloons which had also been in the big balloon drop.

On the final day, we had a lovely fry up cooked by R and supervised by J :) then we packed everything away and walked on down to the trade area.  On the way though, we stopped at the off road experience and C, L and R had an off road ride, the proceeds of which were going to raise money for cancer research.

A fabulous time was had by all.  The loos were amazing this year too and we are all counting down the days until CamperJam 2018
